The Path to Thultanthar

How deep can the darkness go
Falling, flowing, down the hole
Till spark and flame, all light absorbed
What makes one turn to what 's abhorred

This was the crux of Cedar's plight
How could he stem Lord Shadow's Might
With Heavy Magic and Nether Scroll
He trod a path one should not stroll.

Skyships burning, chaff in the wind
Goddly aid Mystra did not send
Such was the battle of Telemont's Hand
A great darkness fell over all the land

How does one fall from a God's grace
Should not mortals know their place
What act could gain Mystra's Refusal?
To read ancient scrolls or mearly perusal?

Reguardless of intentions good and just
Cedar did what he thought he must
And now his power has begun to wan
A mage striken down by Mystra's Ban.

But would he turn to the dark instead?
What secret thoughts dwell in his head?
Would he stride down that darker path?
Could he dare Mystra's further wrath?

A mage who's talent burned so bright
Young and ready to bring the fight
But would he do it, would he go that far?
Taking him down the path to Thultanthar.
